Tyler's Devlog #6


As per usual, I have been working on creating more icons and items for Whispering Abyss. As the game has gotten further along in progress, the design team has been able to crank out more ideas for potential items to implement. Working together with them and the programming team, I feel excited about the vast array of icons that should be featured in game, and will continue to work on each piece as the suggestions come in.

This time, I worked on four icons to serve as abilities for Grace. Each one has a name, with "Close Combat", "Not So Close Combat", "Gambler's Choice", and "Double Shot." I was given permission to be a bit creative with my interpretations of the names, which can be seen in some of my designs below, breaking away a little from our "Lovecraftian Horror" theme, and getting a little comical with the ideas.

I am always open to returning to these designs once I have received proper feedback from my team, but I feel pretty proud of the designs that I managed to come up with. With some touch-ups, they should be ready for in-game implementation. For the future, I will be continuing to work on abilities and equipment that Grace will be able to collect in the abyss, and help bring this game to life.
