As we continue to polish the game, I focused my attention on creating more rooms to generate within the abyss. After the previous issues and setbacks, while constructing the levels during the alpha-beta phases, I now have the ability to build new rooms much quicker than before.
After taking a break from designing the levels I learned a lot from playtesting and used that knowledge while developing some of the new rooms. The dash mechanic, which was reworked for the prerelease, opened the door to many new ideas for rooms. We wanted to add more rooms that required dashing to traverse, along with adding some verticality to the rooms to give them some extra depth.
Hopefully, these extra rooms will add some more diversity to help things from getting stale between floors.
