Hunter Best - Devlog #2 - 2/22/2022


Hunter here, again. This past week I edited "He Approaches," so that it utilizes some voice-leading techniques. Although, despite the fact that it's using better constraints for general music theory, I'm not sure I like this version as much as the previous. However, I'm not sure the previous should stay the same either, so more work is probably going to be done on it. I think I might try and do a more conscious rejection of typical choices in music theory for it so that it makes the music sound unsettling and adds more tension for the listener as we are making a somewhat horror-based game. I may have to start from scratch in order to do that though, but I'll give it a shot, who knows.

Additionally, for the writers, I made an idea for a miniboss, as well as adding some more potential item descriptions, as per the usual. I think the miniboss idea that I came up with is pretty cool, but I don't know if it's in scope for the project, so I'll have to hear from the design team for that. Everyone's been pretty busy with a Proof of Concept that we're doing, so any of the additional stuff that I've been doing, probably won't be implemented until later as I am moreso adding flavor stuff at this point, so that we don't have to worry about making it later on, since it's already there and just needs to be implemented.

I don't know that I want to add an image for the writing stuff, lest I spoil anything in doing so. It's not much, but I'll leave with this:
