QA Process: Reporting - Dillon Lane
Hi folks! It's the second to last dev log you'll see from me, QA Manager Dillon Lane!
Today we'll talk about the reporting process for Quality Assurance, going through the steps taken to report and fix bugs and make balance changes for City of Abominations!
The first step is to playtest the game, obviously. Ideally, the person or persons testing will be focusing in on a specific aspect of the game to make their time testing easier.
The second step, upon playtesting, is to report any bugs or balance issues found within the game as they played. They do this via the designated Bug Report and General Playtesting forms.
After the bug report is submitted, it is reviewed and inputted into a spreadsheet containing a list of all past and present issues.
After it is recorded and sorted, the appropriate person or persons is assigned to fixing the issue. These people could be anyone on the team, be they engineers, designers, or artists.
Once the issue is resolved, the issue on the spreadsheet is updated to be resolved.
