Creating an Online Presence
Hello!
As you may know, the City of Abominations has entered the social realm. While our social media is young, I'd still like to share the experiences of working on it with you to give you some insight on what I have learned to possibly assist you with promoting your game as well.
1. Gameplay is key, even if it's buggy. Concept art can only excite people so much. Post footage from your game and claim the flaws. Other indie devs will love watching it improve.
2. The indie dev community will be your biggest supporters, especially while you're young. There are so many indie devs from all over the world out there, and they are struggling in the same way as you to gain an audience. Work together and support each other. It will benefit you both.
3. Take criticism and don't get dissuaded by it either. There will be people who love your game, and there will be those who hate it and want to make it known. And commonly, those who are not fans tend to be louder than those who are. Keep believing in your game, and don't let the negative ones affect you.
That's the three biggest takeaways so far! If you'd like to support our socials be sure to follow on Insta @ CityOfAbominations and Twitter @CAbominations.
