Enemy Analysis: Slime 2: Electric Boogaloo


Howdy folks, system designer Dillon Lane here with another look into the enemies of City of Abominations!

Today we're gonna revisit a previous guest on our showcase: the Slime!

The slime has been fleshed out a bit in terms of what exactly it does while in combat with the player.
This enemy, while simple in design, is dangerous due to the varying attributes it has based on the district you find it in.


The Slums house a slime whose innards are so toxic that, when exposed to the air, leave a noxious gas, dealing damage over time in an area centered around the remains of the slime.

The slimes of the Commerce District are so fattened up by the food from abandoned merchant stalls that they have a tendency to just split into two slimes upon taking too much damage, leaving those dealing with them with a possible disadvantage in sheer numbers...

Last but certainly not least, the slimes of the Elite District, having subsisted off a diet of armor and the guards inside said armor, are incredibly tough to kill, and their membranes can harden into spikes with a similar strength to steel, dealing hefty damage to those around it.

The Lycan is going to have a rough time dealing with these creatures, as well as the other horrors you'll find in the City of Abominations!
