World Design- Dan Degen

Hey guys it’s Dan Degen the world designer and here is just an overall layout of what we will be doing for the overall world layout and how each area will blend into one another.

 For the idea of the map design of the layout, we came up with the idea of the map having a huge circle layout that keeps getting smaller as you go in and get closer to the final area. The most outer part of the ring will be on flat ground in the slums area. The streets will be mostly dirt and have less sanitary conditions and as you move in towards the next Industrial district. The Industrial district is the 2nd most inner district and has stone streets and not great sanitary conditions, but a lot better than the slums. This part of the city looks visually okay to the naked eye, but up close you can tell there are cracks in the framework of the buildings. The idea is that there is a staircase that brings you up a level into the next level of the area, the areas are free roam so you can go back and forth between any district with no problem. There will be a UI at the top showing you entering a new area. The district after the rich will then be the Elite which will also have a gate and as you enter the elite district you see the streets clear, have the high end stone paved and the buildings are the nicest they have ever been. There are various forms of high end entertainment  from the lower 2 districts, amphitheaters, beggars from the lower end areas. The district  after the Elite is TBD but will have the same accessibility after the 3 areas are cleared and the main mission  completed.

Just for clarification the way how the world will work out is that there are 4 sets of stairs one in the north, south, east and west and in between each set of stairs will be buildings or other stuff to block the player so they have to go up or down the stairs. This also gives the opportunity to separate each area into 4 different mini areas for events and exploring so we will have the slums west, north, east and south and the same thing for the other 2 districts..
