Design Post - Shadow Mechanic Part Two (Eric)
Greetings! Eric Cho reporting here, alongside my teammate and partner system designer Dillon Lane with another design update from the City of Abominations Design Team! We are here to present the shadow teleportation mechanic. This ability to teleport allows a player to get out of difficult situations, but it must be used wisely as it can force a player into werewolf form.
Bloodlust is simply the in-game gauge that tells the player when the protagonist, Skylar, is going to transform into werewolf form. The shadow teleportation mechanic goes hand-in-hand with the bloodlust mechanic because the protagonist's bloodlust will go up after teleporting. By increasing bloodlust at certain unfavorable moments, the player has to manage when to teleport or risk instantly turning into werewolf form, which may then decrease karma.
Teleporting from shadow to shadow, at the cost of building bloodlust.
